The Next Chapter: Soulpax
A band finally stepping into the world they've been building for years.
At EAR, we're always excited to work with artists who continue pushing themselves creatively, and few have embraced that journey quite like Soulpax.
Originally formed in Boston and now based in Miami, the indie pop/disco band has spent the last several years refining their sound, sharpening their vision, and building a world entirely their own. Drawing inspiration from soul, funk, synthpop, rock, and the unmistakable energy of the 1980s, Soulpax has evolved from a collection of influences into a fully realized artistic identity.
Along the way, they've released more than 25 songs, built a growing live presence throughout Florida, and continued expanding their audience through a steady stream of releases and performances. One of the band's defining moments came when they had the opportunity to open for St. Paul & The Broken Bones, an experience that reinforced just how far the project had come.
“Playing with St. Paul & The Broken Bones was one of those moments where everything suddenly felt real,” they said. “It made us realize this music thing could actually happen.”
Now, with the release of Pastel Hearts, Soulpax is entering its biggest creative chapter yet.
Pastel Hearts – The Next Chapter
Released on April 21, Pastel Hearts represents the clearest expression yet of who Soulpax is as a band.
The album dives headfirst into nostalgia, pairing glossy synthpop production with themes of memory, longing, connection, and emotional escape. Inspired by the music, culture, and aesthetics of the 1980s, the project feels cinematic, immersive, and deeply personal.
“With this album we want people to feel the rush of nostalgia while being swept away in the infectious grooves.”
Tracks like Veronica Jade, Dancing Alone, and Miami Dreaming showcase the direction Soulpax has been steadily building toward for years: emotionally rich indie pop fueled by disco grooves, dreamy synth textures, and memorable melodies.
“We wanted the soundscape to feel like driving down a sunset-lit highway in Vice City during the 1980s,” they explain. “Everything surrounding this project is meant to feel immersive.”
For Soulpax, Pastel Hearts isn't simply another release. It's the moment where years of experimentation, growth, and self-discovery finally came together into something cohesive.
What's Changed
Since partnering with EAR, Soulpax has become increasingly intentional about every aspect of the project. While earlier releases explored a variety of sounds and influences, the band now feels more confident than ever in its creative direction.
“We realized how much we're actually drawn to 80s culture—the music, the movies, the clothes, all of it,” they shared. “Once we leaned fully into that, everything started making sense creatively.”
That realization didn't just shape the music. It influenced the visuals, branding, live performances, and overall experience surrounding the project. Rather than chasing trends, Soulpax focused on building a world that feels authentic to who they are.
“This feels like the first time everything has aligned. The music, the visuals, the direction—it all finally feels like Soulpax.”
At its core, the project remains grounded in the same mission that inspired the band from the beginning: creating meaningful connections through music.
“We make music because it’s healing for us. Life is short and uncertain, but art gives people a way to connect with each other. That connection is what makes life worth living.”
What's Next
With Pastel Hearts now out in the world, Soulpax is focused on taking the project further than ever before.
The goal is simple: more cities, more listeners, bigger shows, and a stronger community around the music.
“We want to continue expanding our audience the right way,” they said. “Real people, real connection, real experiences.”
With a clearer identity, growing momentum, and a creative vision that finally feels complete, Soulpax is poised for its most exciting chapter yet.
