Soundcore by Anker SPACE A40 True-Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds Review: Pros, Cons, and Verdict

Soundcore by Anker has been known for its quality audio products, and the SPACE A40 True-Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds are no exception. These earbuds offer a comfortable and secure fit, excellent sound quality, and effective noise-canceling technology.

Design and Comfort

The SPACE A40 earbuds feature a sleek and stylish design, with a black matte finish and silver accents. The earbuds themselves are lightweight and compact, making them easy to carry around. They come with multiple ear tips of different sizes, ensuring a comfortable and secure fit for all users for hours. With that said, putting on these earbuds can take some time to get used to, as their custom design is quite sensitive to touch placement. In some scenarios, our tests indicated it took a few tries to get the right fit with these earbuds, in addition to a microphone whine if holding the earbuds the wrong way, and unintentionally changing the noise-canceling mode.

Sound Quality

The SPACE A40 earbuds offer impressive sound quality, with clear and balanced audio across all frequencies. The earbuds offer multiple modes for equalization preferences, which enhances the soundstage for a more immersive listening experience. The Soundscore app also provides a hearing test that analyses your personal hearing response, and adjusts/boosts frequencies you may not hear well. On the other hand, these headphones were very bass heavy for our tastes out of the box. While this may be a benefit to many users, we preferred turning the bass down on these earbuds.

Noise Cancelling

The noise-canceling technology on the SPACE A40 earbuds is effective in reducing external noise. The earbuds use a microphone to detect and cancel out background noise, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in your music or podcasts. The noise-canceling feature can be turned on, offer a pass-through effect, or be turned off depending on your preference.

Battery Life and Connectivity

The SPACE A40 earbuds offer up to 10 hours of playtime on a single charge, and an additional 40 hours with the charging case. The charging case supports USB-C charging, making it easy to recharge your earbuds on the go.

Versatile Application

These earbuds provide an excellent listing experience when listing to music, watching videos, and having general “quiet time” in loud spaces, however, the SPACE A40 did not perform well when taking phone calls. Callers would complain they could not hear the speaker, and calls would sound muffled. In some cases, removing the headphones entirely was the only option to continue the call. In other instances, physical activity was a perfect match for the SPACE A40 earbuds, as they did not fall out while working out, running, walking, or traveling, and stayed comfortable the whole time.

Soundcore by Anker's SPACE A40 True-Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds offers a comfortable and secure fit, excellent sound quality, and effective noise-canceling technology. However, like any product, they also have their pros and cons. Here's a closer look:
